Overall a very disappointing ship
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AMain bar/lounge and reception areas smart and very clean. Top deck also well-cared for. Dining room rather unattractive. Beware of the description of the facilities by the tour operator, as they do not match up to reality. Some of the official photos are not current. Overall we felt the ship was tired and in need of a lot of repair/renovation work, escpecially in the cabins.
CabinCabin was very disappointing with a very poor standard of cleanliness, top bed cover stained, bed linen has seen much better days, grey rather than white. Bathroom needed a really good clean, grouting on tiles mouldy, similarly black in corners at floor level. Toilet lid was dirty. TV did not work, we never found the music system.
GastronomyFood was plentiful, but unimaginative and very boring. After second day very repetitive. Dining room was clean and waiters very attentive.
ServiceService in general was good, most of staff very friendly. Cabin cleaning not up to standard.
Sport & EntertainmentVery little entertainment. Pool okay. Massage tent on top deck - masseur hassled people non-stop to have a massage!
Land excursionsAll the excursions on the Nile cruises are excellent and the guides first rate!
Other tips and recommendationsWhen you book your cruise on the Nile, some of the tour operators do not guarantee that you will get the ship you booked from the brochure. Check with your operator to establish which alternative ships they may use and then you can do your checking before you go! Use you cabin safe to lock away your valuables!! Do not drink the tap water!!
