Adventure on the Nile
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe MS Mahrousa is not a large boat but so friendly clean and well decorated with such helpful and friendly staff that are there to help at all times The rooms were not as large as they look on the photos but all things considered they did the job Always clean and lovely little touches with the towels etc The food was plentiful and there was choices for every sitting The Chef and staff were lovely always smiling and every birthday was celebrated with everyone joining in We found that the currency was fine and if you did not have their currency they were quite happy to accept English
CabinCabin had a good sized window to look out on the Nile as we sailed Shower was really powerful and although the beds were quite firm I slept really well after the first night
GastronomyThere was only one restaurant but it was quite nice and there was always plenty of food available It was clean and the staff were great The only downside of the bar was the local gin etc is not that nice so stuck to red white wine or soft drinks
ServiceStaff all round were great lovely lovely people and they were really good with everyone Cabins were always clean and there was staff cleaning the boat all day and night keeping the whole place looking lovely
Sport & EntertainmentThe pool was a little small but as it was January did not want to be in there there were plenty of chairs to sit and gaze at the Nile which was what I wanted to do don't need to be inside when you have the views I had
Land excursionsWell what can I say about our guide Haggi he was wonderful very knowledgeable and took his time to explain all about the temples and all the lives that had been before us I loved the trips out they were well organised and we set off early so it was not crowded The people waiting for us were a little persistant but not enough to put me off going out and enjoying the sights Haggi did all he could to make it memorable and he succeeded
Other tips and recommendationsI had wanted to go to the Nile for a long time and was always told it would be too hot but January seems to be a lovely time of the year no rain not too hot and back each day in time for relaxing on the boat Possibly take american dollars as they are happy to accept them but English is good too I would be happy to go on this type of cruise again and hope to take another to Abu Simbel which I did not get to see this time so Eygpt is still on my list of places to see Lovely place lovely people go see for yourself
