Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A Asmall ship, needed refurbing but spotlessly clean. needed to be fit & energetic with all the steps. Not suitable for wheelchair & people with mobility problems. Tips were given at the end of the cruise. 1 envelope for the staff & 1 for courier & driver who I must say were excellent, good english & very knowledgeable. You decide how much to give.Food excellent, I ate salad daily which was fresh &clean, never once got ill on board. Also a good choice if you were willing tor try different types & not stay with safe recognisable foods. Dissapointed with dress code for dinner as expected more but the positive is when I go again I can cut down on luggage.
Cabinexternal cabin on the lower deck. needed a little maintainence & refurbing.bathroom contained bath with shower, hair dryer & mirror to die for, I could fix my hair at the back no problem, even better than at home.Towels changed daily, air conditioning, safe & telephone available. Only negative was the noise of the generators. Positive was the friendliness of the staff & the wonderful decorations with towels, my favourite being the crcoadile in sunglasses
GastronomyThink I covered this in ship in general. No complaints whatsoever
ServiceExcellent when on board ship but this was marred when we returned from our 2 centre holiday. Felt no one new what was going on. Suitcases had to be carried from the coach back to the ship & then returned a few hours later. This involved a walk of several hundred yards, a steep flight of steps and crossing 3 other boats.Drinks had to be paid for although we had an all inclusive holiday until 12noon. Lunch was included but no one notified us that a table had been reserved for us & we were requested to move from where we were to the reserved table during the meal. A bad experience to finish what had been a fabulous holiday.
Sport & EntertainmentNeed a book exchange or library. They are trying & did have a shelf were books were placed & exchanged.Their are a few excercise machines, smoking & non smoking areas, a small pool great for non swimmers but keen swimmers may be dissapointed.Entertainment depends on you, if willing to join in you can have a ball.
Land excursionsFantasic guide Hany. Spoke great English. Both knowledgeable & informative not only of the places we visited but of local customs & practices.Always available to answer questions & queries. We had early starts but well worth it to miss the crowds that followed.Next visit I would book 2weeks & spread the visits so the early mornings werestretched out .
Other tips and recommendationsWe travelled November & still found it a little warm during the day but as evening closes it becomes cold & sweaters are required. Take Eygption cash in small denominations as tipping is the way of life, you can find luggage left in the street & not put on the coach if you do not tip. When shopping have a price in mind what you are willing to pay and stick with it even walking out of the shop if your price is not reached. Bartering like tipping is their way of life.Remember this is Eygpt not England.
