Santo Domingo (Las Americas), is the main airport and is just 30km from the capital, a taxi will cost about 20$.

Car Rental
Renting a car in the Dominican Republic is not difficult, but you have to satisfy several conditions. The driver must be over 25 years, have drivers license and credit card. The same applies with motorbikes. A car will cost about $ 60 per day and it is best to book it in advance.

Public Transport

Discover and Enjoy

Experience and enjoy
A paradise for surfers, especially the small town of Cabaret, about 40 miles from Puerto Plata. Not only are the beaches great for surfing, they are perfect for walking or horse riding. Scuba diving is also a top activity that you can enjoy here!

The residents of the island are prone to all night parties, with madness and dancing- they love to entertain.
Another are to point out would be Cape Samana, where you can whale watch, or simly just enjoy the beautiful beach.

Cuisine
On the coast a lot of fish and seafood is cooked, otherwise a lot of poultry is eaten with rice and plantains. For something traditional try the rice pudding, mango cakes and deserts with fresh fruit and coconut. The Caribbean is known for good coffee, the Dominican Republic is no exception. The aromatic coffee is served strong with lots of sugar.
