Located in Gastouri, the palace was built in 1890 for the Empress of Austria and was later bought by Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany. Over looking the sea and Corfu town this is definately a palace to bring your camera along.The palace is an interest especially to English tourists as it is the birthplace of Prince Phillip.
In the garden there are many sculptured statues of the Greek Gods and Goddesses.

We saw the beautiful Achillion Palace from Gastouri (about 9 km from Corfu Town) in the penultimate day of our holiday in Corfu, when we went in the Grand Island Tour. The Palace It was originally built for the Elisabeth von Wiltelsbach , Empress of Austria, known as Princess Sissy. The palace shows Princess Sissy’s love for Greek mythology and it is called Achillion to honor the Greek hero Achilles.
