The Acropolis of Athens also simply known as The Acropolis as it is the best known acropolis in the world. There are many acropleis in Greece but the one in Athens is the most significant and has been around for around 2500 years. It is now a UNESCO world heritage site.The Acropolis contains many famous buildings over its 3 hectare flat stone top, though The Parthenon is the most recognizable and has come to be the symbol of Athens.
