Anne Frank is probably the Netherland's most famous child. Many a school child read her diary in English classes and at the Anne Frank house you can put a solid place to those memories.

 
History of Anne Frank
During the period of German occupation of Amsterdam, Anne Frank and her family lived in hiding in the house on the Prinsen Canal which is today a museum. On display here is the original copy of her diary, which she wrote until she was taken away and murdered.
 
Visiting the Anne Frank House
It is situated at Prinsengracht 263-267 in the center of Amsterdam. Around 20 minutes walk from from Central Station. Trams 13 & 17 and buses 142, 170 & 172 stop nearby at ‘Westermarkt’ .

Daily 9am - 7pm (9pm Summer and Saturdays)
Admission (2011, in 2012 all prices will go up 50 cent)
