General description: Bar Route 66
Route 66 is a brilliant place to go. Its in the resort of Puerto Santiago in Tenerife. Staff are there from around 5.30pm if you want a quiet drink, and it stays open until the last customers go home, sometimes at "stupid o'clock"..... It's lively and fun, with resident band Old Dogs New Tricks playing there every Sunday through to Thursday, 9pm - midnight. It's always packed out, so you need to get there early if you want a seat. You can sit inside or out, the outside seating area is growing all the time because the bar is so popular!The bar staff do an amazing job, keeping all the customers supplied with drinks. They do a very hard job looking after so many people. When ODNT aren't playing there is still a live band playing. I would recommend this bar to anybody for a great night out. Give it a try, you wont want to go anywhere else!! If you do go, tell Juan SAM recommended the bar. x

Route 66 is a brilliant place to spend an evening. The staff (Juan in particular) are very attentive, efficient and friendly. The atmosphere is amazing, especially when the band Old Dogs New Tricks are on the bill. They play at the bar a few times every week and they are fab entertainment. I have been to Puerto Santiago many times, staying at the Tamaimo Tropical hotel around the corner from the bar. I am going again this October, after a couple of year's break, and I can't wait to go to Route 66 because I know I will have a fantastic time. ... Read more
