Boboli Gardens
The wonderful landscaped gardens extend from the rear of the Palazzo Pitti to the Porta Romana and as far up as the Forte di Belvedere. Decorated with leafy walkways and cypress avenues, fountains and ponds, staircases and artificial grottos, an amphitheatre and hundreds of marble statues, the Boboli Gardens are amongst the most famous in Italy. One should allow around three hours to explore the full 45,000 m2 of this park with its beautiful views of the city. In summer, part of the gardens is used for evening concerts of chamber music.
One of the most delightful sets of gardens in Italy has been created over an area of 45 ha behind Palazzo Pitti.
