General description for Cannes Film Festival

Cannes film festival was founded in 1946 and is arguably the oldest and most famous film festival in the world. It takes place in May each year in the city on the French Riviera. The festival is one of the most important events of the year for European film makers. Cannes in May attracts a massive amount of Media attention, and with this comes glamour and celebrity. It is often difficult for travellers to get tickets to the actual event, however it is a great time to be in Cannes to soak up the atmosphere.
