Also known as The Mausoleum of Hadrian is a towering cylindrical building in Rome, Italy. Built in 139 as mausoleum for himself and his successors. The castle is divided into five floors:Floor 1-is the beginning of the famous winding ramp

Floor 4-consists of many rooms including the magnificent papal rooms
Floor 5-the big terrace on the top floor with panoramic views and there is alsoa status of an angel built by the 18th century Flemish sculptorPieter Verschaffelt and depicts the angel which is said to have appeared on thetop of the fortress in 590 and miraculously ended the plague.
The castle also has an underground corridor which leads tothe Vatican Palace. It was built to provide an escape route for the Pope at a time of danger.
The castle is currently a national museum and has various exhibits ranging from Renaissance paintings and pottery to military weapons.
