The Konstanz Christmas Market takes place in the heart of Constance. It takes place both on land on on the boats. More than 130 Christmas Market stalls fill the town selling the good traditional German Christmas delights like Glühwein (mulled wine) and the southern German specialty Käsespätzle a type of fresh pasta with lots of cheese as well as many hand made arts and crafts,The 2011 Christmas market will take place from 25th November - 23rd December!

Visiting the real German Christmas Markets in Konstanz was truly a magical! It was a chilly night, but when all wrapped up in gloves and hats and a mug of Glühwein in hand it was perfect. There was an endless amount of stalls going on and on and on at the edge of the Lake. It had a great atmosphere and lots of Christmas lights everywhere. It was wonderful to browse through the stalls seeing all of the beautiful trinkets and souvenirs as well as the many different type of food. I will definitely be visiting again. The Konstanz Weihnachtsmarkt or Constance Christmas Market is huge in proportion to the town.
It spreads out along the whole harbour area and on into the town center. The many beautifully decorated and festively lit stalls sell a huge range of Christmas gifts. Their are also many food and drink stalls selling delicious warm meals and traditional German Glühwein.
