Dublin dates back to the second century when the Norman Vikings were the first settlers in the city. Until the middle 17th century, Dublin remained a small medieval town. In 1649 the town was taken over by Oliver Cromwell with just 9000 residents, later at the end of the 17th century the town began to grow to the city it is now.
 
Trinity College Dublin is Irelands Oldest and most renowned University. It was founded in 1592 and has a range of buildings.

Central Dublin is relatively small and easy to navigate by foot. The city is split with the River Liffey. A slight walk through he city brings you to one of Dublin’s most ancient landmark, Christ Church Cathedral. Or if you are looking for a nice grassy park with wandering deer then head tothe Phoenix Park which is surrounded by a stone wall. The Irish pub culture is also a popular attraction of the city. There are many concerts and live music which takes place around the city. The main classical venue in the city centre is the National concert Hall.

Or if you want to venture further out of the city, there area good range of hills to walk up and the Coastline of Wicklow to the south. You will find one of Dublins newest monuments is the Spire of Dublin, orignially known as ‘Monument of light’. 121.2 metres conical spire made of stainless steel located on O’Connell street asight worth visiting.

Shopping in Dublin is popular for locals aswell as tourists. The city has many shopping districts and centres where you can find souvenirs as well as your essential necessities.
