Dubrovnik is a beautiful, traditional, historic city on the Adriatic Coast. It is not the capital of Croatia but it is probably the most well-known city and is a very popular tourist destination. The medieval walled city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

History of Dubrovnik
The city was founded in around the 7th or 8th century. It went through a turbulent history as it swapped hands between, among others; the Byzantine Empire, Venice, Hungary and Yugoslavia. For a while it also ruled itself as the free state of Ragusa. It is now a city of the Republic of Croatia.

Things to do in Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is a beautiful city and the most enjoyable past time is to take a stroll around the historic medieval streets. From the higher points fo the city you can look out over the red tiled roofs and out on to the Adriatic sea.
