Description
The fishing harbour is immediately behind the fish market downstream the Elbe. This is still Germany's most significant port for trans-shipment of seafish, although more fish is transported by truck and aeroplane than by boat nowadays.
A good starting point for a stroll is the path right in front of the terrace of the Hafen Hamburg Hotel (ideal vantage point for the "Harbour Birthday Festival").
