The Garden District is, as the name suggests, a district in New Orleans. Although it has man many gardens, the focus is what many believe to be the best preserved collection of historic southern mansions in the US.New Orleans High Society
In the 19th century New Orleans became a very prosperous area and wealthy newcomers came to the Garden District to build opulent structures to reflect their rank and status. It still has some famous residents including Sandra Bullock, Nicolas Cage and John Goodman (the voice of Sulley in Monsters Inc)
