Description
The road, built in 1935, is at an altitude of 1500 m and crosses all vegetation zones from meadow almost all the way to glacier. Exhibitions along the road inform visitors about the local history and landscape. To reach the high Alps road, leave the Salzachtal federal road (Bundesstrasse) at Bruck. After around 7.5 km you will reach Fusch, where the road begins. The Ferleiten toll booth is 14 km further south. The total trip including mountain and valley section covers around 48 km.
The panorama road, opened in 1935, leads up Austria's highest mountain and until reaching the peak of 2503 m, crosses several vegetation zones.
