A place travelers can visit Hierapolis
Reviews: Hierapolis
General description: Hierapolis
Hierapolis is an ancient Roman city in Turkey and is sometimes called the "sacred city". It is well known for its hot springs with many people coming to soothe their ailments and relax themselves ion the therapeutic waters. The large baths and spas are made with large blocks of cement with some having marble pilliars and fragments on the floor of the pool. It is now an archaeological museum. When swimming in the pools you will be able to over look the white pamukkale which is located right next to the Hierapolis. This effect occurs when the water from the hot springs loses carbon dioxide and flows down the slopes creating natural pools and deposits of limestone.
To get to Hierapolis there are excusions which leave from Kusadasi to Pamukkale which takes approximately 3 hours.
