Ile de Gabriele is one of Mauritius many neighboring islands. Many catamarans or motor boats will take you out to the island to enjoy the sun or snorkeling.

Location

Ile de Gabriele is located next to Ile Plate, both surrounded by a coral reef. Both islands are 7 km from Coin de Mireand during low tide you can wade from one island to the next.

Ile de Gabriele, Ile Platee and Coin de Mire are all preserved areas, meaning that no agricultural production is allowed or hotels being built.

Activities on Ile de Gabriele

Ile de Gabriele can only be reached via boat. Once there you may choose to snorkel, take a walk through nature or just enjoy the sun.

Due to the riff around Ile de Gabriele and Ile Plate, the water is a stunning turquoise color with many creatures inhabiting it.

Snorkeling

Snorkeling is recommended inside the coralreef or between the two islands. However, there is a strong current between the two islands, which needs to be taken into consideration. To make the best of the snorkeling trip, the crew of the boat you arrived with will usually be ableto tell you where the best spots are and will feed the fish so that you get the most out of your experience.

Climate

The climate for Ile de Gabriele istropical. The summer months are humid and range from November to April, averaging 25 Celsius. The winter months, ranging from June to September, are cool and dry, with temperatures around 20 Celsius.
