Iztuzu BeachIztuzu Beach, also known as “Turtle Beach” is in the southwest of Turkey. It is a 4.5 kilometer long beach in the district of Province of Mugla, near Dalyan.
Getting to Iztuzu Beach
The simplest way to get to the beach is with a Dokmusse from Dalyan. Return tickets cost ytl. 5.00 Per person.
The best time to visit Iztuzu Beach is between April and June and September to October. During the other months it is too hot, as the temperatures may be as high as 50 Celsius.
The Beach
The Beach forms a natural barrier between the fresh water delta of Dalyan River and the Mediterranean.
Iztuzubeach is the main breeding ground for the loggerhead sea turtle, therefore no construction is allowed on the beach. Additionally, the beach is closed from 8am to 8pm between the months of May and October.
The beach itself is a white sand beach, with trees lining the beach. For your comfort you can rent 2 lounge chairs and one umbrella for a fee of ytl. 7.50.
Due to the shallow water it is very well suited for families with small children.
Climate
The Dalyan area has a lush Mediterranean climate. The summers are long and hot, whereas the winters are mild and wet.
Tip: Try the Gozlene at the snack bar on the beach.
