Jenners Department Store, usually just Jenners, is an Edinburgh institution. Until it was acquired by House of Fraser in 2005 it was the oldest independent department store in Scotland.
 
A very old shop
Jenners has been around since 1838 and has held the Royal Warrant since 1911. It is known as the Harrods of the North. When House of Frasers bought it they kept its name identity. Well it did cost them £46.1 million.

Tip: At Christmas Jenners erects a 40ft Christmas Tree in it's center. It's an annual a tourist attraction for the locals.
