Description
Impressive ramparts still recall the Slavic Ranenburg castle. The small, square lighthouse housing several exhibitions was built by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. Since 1902, the round tower next to it has been sending beams of light out to sea once darkness falls. You can enjoy a superb panoramic view from both lighthouses and the former naval tracking tower nearby. Typical regional products are on sale at Rügenhof Arkona.
From the three towers at Germany's northern cape, the view extends across the remains of a Slavic castle far out to the Baltic Sea and inland.
