Reviews: Keukenhof
General description: Keukenhof
The world famous Keukenhof is located near the village of Lisse, 20km west of Amsterdam. Every year hundreds upon thousands of visitors come from around the globe to admire and enjoy the wonderful flower sculptures, tulip fields and general floral color and festivities.Dutch Tulips
Tulips are, of course, the focus of the 'exhibition'. The park covers 32 hectares wherein there are 4.5 million tulips in 100 varieties. Nowhere else can you see such a large selection. In total there are 15km of footpaths and there are many more spring flowers other than tulips for example daffodils.Flower shows exhibit the best of the best. Especially noteworthy is the Hall of Orchids. The Keukenhof opens it's fields and gardens to visitors for 8 weeks from mid March to mid May. There are over 7 million flowers to see, smell and experience. It is the ultimate Spring feeling!
Visiting the Keukenhof
When you arrive you may be overwhelmed by the crowds, but rest assured that once you enter the Keukenhof the crowds disperse through the blooming fields and you can watch nature in a peaceful atmosphere. There are also many benches where you can sit, relax and take in the magnificence of the flowers. The catering is also very good.
