The Khan El-Khalili Bazaar has its origins in the 13th or 14th Century.

If it exists then you will find it somewhere in this bazaar of twisting passages, numerous tributaries and maze like streets.

Over time the Khan El-Khalili bazar has of course developed into a tourist attraction and thus the prices have developed into inflated tourist prices. However the combination of the haggling, the smells of spices and perfumes in between the roasting chickens, the pitta bread, incense jewelry, antiques, small workshops and smoking traders all in a suffocating small space is what gives the bazaar its charm and attraction.
