The Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, the "belly of Barcelona", is the name given to the famous market hall on La Rambla. It's more commonly simply referred to as La Boqueria.

This is where both Catalan housewives and the city's top chefs buy their produce. You will be astonished by the mountains of freshly caught fish and seafood piled high, the appetising mushrooms, pepperoni, nuts or truffles. Avoid the overpriced stalls by the entrance. And try the fresh products made into tasty delicacies at the stalls on the edge of the hall, with the best food found at the Pinotxo counter.
