Lasíthi PlateauIn the Eastern of Crete, Lasithi Plateau is abeautiful area of Crete to see. The scattered windmills help to water the dryplains which cover 25,000 square meters. There were 10,000 built but only a feware still in use today. Surrounding theplains are the Dikti mountains. Foods such as apples and pears, as well as somepotatoes and lettuce are grown on the plains in the fertile land.
High up in the mountains are the ruins of Karfi which is where the Minoans lived after retreating into the mountains in 1000BC.
