A place travelers can visit Leipzig Zoo
Reviews: Leipzig Zoo
General description: Leipzig Zoo
Leipzig Zoo is divided into 6 areas: Africa, Asia, South America, Founders Garden, Pongoland & Grondwanaland. What to see at Leipzig Zoo
Have you ever watched elephants diving? This is possible from the underwater glass in the elephant temple at Leipzig Zoo. You can experience faraway continents in the heart of the city: The zoo features adventure worlds such as the African savanna (plan to stop for a break in the stylish Kiwara Lodge), the great ape compound "Pongoland", Asia with its elephant temple, the tiger taiga or the jungle bear ravine. Everywhere you go there are opportunities for children to climb around, as well as useful knowledge to pick up and remember. The children's zoo is a petting zoo. The charming complex, which was opened in 1878 by Ernst Pinkert as a private zoo, boasts more than 800 different species. In the future, "Gondwana Land" will allow you to explore the rainforest.
