General description: London Eye

The London Eye; London's best attraction - unless you're scared of heights. The world's biggest Ferris wheel (135 m) was installed on the south bank of the Thames in 2000.

See London through the eyes of a Seagull
The view from the glassed cabins, each of which holds 25 passengers, is unbeatable. On clear days you can see for miles, and in the evenings you float romantically above the city lights. The pre-flight 4D tour takes you around London from the vantage point of a seagull.

Book ahead for discounts and if you want to avoid the queues.
It is advisable to pre-book tickets in the high season and at weekends. Otherwise, if the weather's nice you can simply join the queue. An even more stylish option is the Champagne Flight: clink glasses above the roofs of London. The capsules on the world's tallest big wheel offer you an unbeatable view of the city.

Prices range from £16 - £19 for a standard ticket. There are often special promotions so keep an eye out for vouchers in hotel brochures or online.

Opening Times: Daily 10am - 8.30pm

The London Eye is vastly becoming one of the most popular destinations in London. Sadly, as a result it is becoming more and more busy every day of the week. Its a great attraction however, if you turn up on the day it could take you over an hour to get on. I suggest paying a little bit extra for the Champagne tour, where you go round glass in hand and better than this you get to jump the queue and go to the front of the line. Read more

If you go to London the London Eye is one of those 'must see' attractions to tick off your list, however it's not that exciting. The mini 4D show that you see before getting on is maybe even the highlight. You sweep across London on a sunny day and see all the sites from above in a wee cinema screen with extra affects like water and movement. It moves very slowly and there's not that much to see especially if it's a grey day. It's quite relaxing though and enjoyable. The question is; is it worth the money? I would say if you're on a bu...
