Manly Beach is situated in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Australia. It is said to be the world’s biggest surfing beach, and you can only swim at certain areas of the beach.

You can reach this beach with the ferry. The ride from Circular Quay takes about 30 minutes and is also very scenic, as you get a chance to see Sydney from a different angle.
 
The Beach
For surfers it is truly a paradise, and if you want to swim there are numerous life guards who make sure that you are not leaving the marked areas.

To the right and to the left of the beach you will find saltwater pools to swim in as well.

There is a surf school which offers courses for beginners as well as for experts.

The beach itself is golden, with soft sand and blue water.

Origin of the Name
The name Manly Beach comes from Capt. Arthur Phillip who described the indigenous people as having manly behavior. Therefore he decided to call the Cove they live in Manly Cove.

The average temperature at Manly beach in the summer ranges between 18 and 27 Celsius. During the winter the average temperature is between 8 and 17 Celsius.
