Gibraltar belongs to Great Britain. It is said that it will pass into the ownership of Spain when the monkeys leave the Monkey Rock.The apes living on the rock are Barbary Macaques and they are Europe's only wild monkeys. Today, there are about 240 monkeys on the rock.
St. Michael's Cave is located in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve of Gibraltar. It is situated about 300m above sea level. It became a popular tourist attraction and is open daily. Ticket prices are about £10.
