The Montmorency Falls are large waterfalls coming from the Montmorency River in Quebec located near the heart of old Quebec City. The falls are 84 meters high being the highest falls in the province of Quebec and even 30 meters higher than the Niagara Falls. The name Montmorency was given in 1613 by Samuel de Champlain in honor of Henri 2 Duke de Montmorency. The falls can be visited by going to the suspension bridge over the crest of the falls where you have access to both sides of its surrounding park to spot this spectacular view. By using the aerial tram you can travel between the base and the top of the falls. Another amazing thing is the Ice hotel located at Montmorency Falls.
