The Lion King Musical - Der König der Löwen has been a strong presence in Hamburg Harbor for a decade now. The yellow Lion King shuttle ferries are a common sight along the Elbe and visitors still flock to see the show.
Magical costumes, Marvelous music
The musical is based on Walt Disney's The Lion King with music by Elton John and Tim Rice. The fantastic costumes and music have been enthralling young and old alike since December 2001. A wonderful way to get in the mood is to take a ride on one of the yellow shuttle ferries from the landing piers across the Elbe to the Haven Theater (included in the ticket price).
Visiting The Lion King by boat
Tickets start at €39.90 and can be reserved at: www.loewenkoenig.de. Discounts for children, students, seniors, disabled & groups are available.
Public transport:
Take the S-or U-Bahn to Landungbrücken and then step on to a shuttle boat to the theater on the other side of the Elbe. The ships are free and run regularly from 2 hours (1 hour for Matinees) before the show begins till 1.5 hours after it finishes.
