Mwazaro Beach

History of Mwazaro Beach

Hans von Loesch left Germany to live in Kenya in 1993 and discovered this untouched part of the world. He opened a small resort with 8 bungalows, a restaurant and several other amenities. The entire resort is 100% ecological, running merely off of Wind and Solar power.

Location and accessibility

There are direct flights from Germany to Mombassa with Condor or LTU. These take about 8 hours, where you leave at night and arrive the next morning. Thanks to the one hour time difference you will already be able to enjoy your first day at the resort.

Once at the airport you will need to take a taxi to the resort itself.

Activities

At Mwazarobeach you can enjoy the “common” beach activities such as fishing, snorkeling and diving. You can also choose to take a boat trip through the Mangrove jungle, lasting about 3.5 hours.

When the tide is low, you may be lucky enough to see the 4.5m large seashell which is said to be thousands of years old. You may also choose to enjoy a one-hour walkon the beach to the Ramsi Delta or the Holy Baobab.

Climate

The temperatures range from 10 Celsius in July and August to 25 Celcius in January and February. Due to the wet season, travel is recommended between the months of December to March or June to October.
