General description: New England Holocaust Memorial
The New England Holocaust Memorial was built to foster the memory of Shoah - the holocaust. It was started by a group of Nazi concentration camp survivors who came to Boston to start new lives. By the time it was dedicated in 1995, over 3000 people had got involved in supporting the project.New England Holocaust Memorial Design
The memorial is made up of 6 luminous glass towers reaching 54 feet into the sky. The towers are full of metaphors and evocative of the terrible times that passed.
Location
The memorial is in Carmen Park on Boston's Freedom Trail. It is within 5-10 minutes walking distance of Haymarket subway station on the green and orange line, Government Center on the blue and green line and State Street on the blue and orange lines.
