Description
Albert I was not only a prince but also a passionate oceanographer. Since 1910, the fruits of his scientific work have been presented at the impressive Institute building 85 m above the sea. During his 30-year tenure (until 1988) as the director of the Oceanographic Museum, Jacques-Yves Cousteau made it world famous. There are over 4000 marine creatures and 200 species of fish in around 100 aquariums. The oldest animals, including giant turtles, which attract huge attention, have their own basin.
Exciting presentation of marine biology in enchanting aquariums.
You can enjoy a marvellous view of the sea, while enjoying a coffee on the rooftop cafeteria.
