The Ottawa Cathedral is also known as “Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica” located in the Lower Town. The cathedral used to be a smaller church being built in 1832 and was redesigned and completed by 1866. Unique aspects of the church are the towers being topped with French-Canadian tin and bells. The interior of the church is brightly painted and decorated with carved features and various Statues of religious figures. It is a very beautiful cathedral which gives a religious insight to the history and culture in Ottawa.
