The Parliament hill is an area of Crown land located on the southern banks of the Ottawa River. The parliament buildings are a Gothic revival suite of buildings which are the home of the Parliament of Canada. It also has many architectural elements which serve as national importance. In 1859 the site became used by the government and before that during the 18th and 19th century it was used as a military base. The Parliament hill offers beautiful views and fascinating aspects of Ottawa’s history.
