Palolem beach is within 2 kilometers from the market town of Chaudi in the southernpart of Canacona, Goan taluka.

This beach is within 2 kilometers of Chaudin, which is about a one hour drive from the coastal town Karwar in Karnataka, and a 40 minute drive from the main cityin South Goa, Margao.
 
For those coming from further away the closest airport is Dabolim Airport which is about 67 kilometers away. The railway station Madgaon is 43 kilometers away and there are regular buses from here.

Palolem beach is known for its bamboo-hut resort and restaurants which allow tourists to spend the night right by the Arabian Sea.
 
The huts range from being luxurious to basic, depending on your needs, wants, andtime of booking and travel.
 
The beach huts are very demanded by backpackers as the most basic ones are usually available without any prior bookings. However, advanced bookings are necessary during the peak season of January and December.

The Beach
The 1 mile long,crescent-shaped beach of Palolem is a well-traveled to tourist destination. The descending bay is used by fishermen who will depart from this area.
In the cove itself, you will see Canacona Island, also known as “Green Island”. Several kilometers towards the west you will find the Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary. The beach is shallowest at the northern ends, making this area better for average swimmers and families.
