A place travelers can visit Parc de la Tete d'Or
Reviews: Parc de la Tete d'Or
General description: Parc de la Tete d'Or
The Parc de la Tête d'Or was created in the second half of the 19th Century. With an area of 105 hectares, it is one of the largest urban parks in Europe. It was designed as an English garden but has undergone some changes in the meantime. A large lake with islands created by the backwaters of the Rhone shapes the park. There is also a rose garden with about 70,000 plants from 350 different species. The botanical garden with greenhouses and the zoo are also worthy of attention.
Boat rental and other entertainment complement the leisure facilities.
Cycling is permitted along the wide paths through the park. The city maintains 345 spots with rental bicycles which are spread throughout the city. A sensible idea.
