Description
On the left bank of the Main, an entire quarter of cobblestone alleys and squares: the Ebbelwei (dialect for applewine) quarter, touristic amusement quarter. It used to be a simple people area: fishermen and dyers, tanners, gardeners, winegrowers and market women. The two Affentorhäuser (monkey gate houses) are former customs and guardhouses from 1810.
