Saklikent Gorge

Also known as the hidden city, the Saklikent Gorge is the second biggest in Europe with a length of 20km. The gorge consists of large sculpted walls. After April, when the snow has melted, visitors are able to walk through about 4km of the gorge.

The gorge was discovered in 1980's by local villagers who agreed it would be beneficial to build a bridge to this secret place. The gorge is a popular place for geologists who come to study the abrasion of the rocks in this particular area.

There is a minibus from Fethiye which takes around 40minutes.

The Saklikent Gorgeis open from April to September. The best time to visit is during the morning or afternoon to avoid tour groups. It is a good idea to bring shoes and an extra change of clothes incase you get wet.
