San Lorenzo Mercato Centrale
This spacious market hall, built in 1784, is a foodie mecca. As Heinrich Heine already wrote way back in 1828, the goods on display are "the most glorious sight a man can behold".
 
Experience the market
The colours, smells and excitement of this place makes it an experience to visit even if you don't plan to buy anything. Also a wonderful photo opportunity. The Piazza dell Mercato just outside is also full of stalls selling anything from leather goods to souvenirs and clothing.
