Description
The dominant building in the Old Town and a masterpiece of brick Gothic architecture. With a length of 100 m, the cathedral is longer than the great Hanseatic churches on the Baltic coastline. The tower, which has a panoramic viewing platform at a height of 50 m, is 117.5 m tall and this makes it the tallest church tower in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The organ with roughly 6000 pipes in the brick building, which was completed in 1416, is the largest in Mecklenburg.
