A place travelers can visit St Giles Cathedral
Reviews: St Giles Cathedral
General description: St Giles Cathedral
St Giles' Cathedral or the High Kirk of Edinburgh is the Mother Church of Presbyterianism and an incredibly beautiful building.A cathedral by name but not by nature
St Giles' is not actually a Cathedral as it is not the seat of a bishop however it's architecture rivals that of a cathedral. It's crown steeple is visible from many parts of Edinburgh and the interior is beautifully crafted with carved stone and stained glass. St Giles' is named after the patron saint of Edinburgh; St Giles.

St Giles' is one of the few churches that I feel very happy in. It is not too grand but yet beautiful. It does not have an overbearing quality like some big churches and yet there is still a powerful atmosphere. It's not too big but there's lots to see.
As a child I always went to the St Giles' at 6 concerts. They are not too long and I really enjoyed the different mix of music. One time I was even in one of the Choirs singing.
If you are in Edinburgh on a Sunday afternoon at 6pm I would suggest you pop by. Read more
