A place travelers can visit The Colosseum
Reviews: The Colosseum
General description: The Colosseum
The Colosseum is an icon of Italy. Standing proud in Rome it has witnessed many a bloody fight through it's history. Now the tourists flock to Rome to visit the greatest amphitheater in antiquity. The Colosseum in Rome
The Italians would love to see the most beautiful of all classic arenas, the Colosseum, turned into a football temple but to date it is only the dainty ballerinas of the Bolshoi Ballet who have been allowed to perform there. Emperor Vespasian began building the Colosseum in 72 AD and after eight years of construction, his son Titus inaugurated it with one hundred days of festivities. Countless animals and gladiators were sacrificed. The legionnaires however, are very much alive and kicking, and will pose for a photo with you in exchange for a fee.
