Don’t let the hassle ruin your trip
The Pyramids are visited by millions of tourists every year which means that many people try to make their living here and so that the entire area has become overrun with traders, guides and other sales people. If you strongly but kindly say no then you should be ok.
Seeing the pyramids from inside
The Pyramids are magnificent from the outside but in exchange for an entrance fee tourists can also see the pyramids from the inside. You cannot however wander freely and usually there is just one main passageway which all the tourists get funneled through.
Getting to the Pyramids
Bus: Air-conditioned buses leave every 20 minutes to the Pyramids from the airport and Heliopolis. They stop next to the Egyptian Museum on their way to Giza. Tickets cost 2EGP but prices are subject to change.
Taxi: Yellow Taxis have meters and air conditioning. The black and white Taxis can be found anywhere in Cairo and you will need to haggle for a price. They may also try and take you to many other locations in order to charge you more for the ride. Be very clear that you want to go straight to the destination and will not pay for anything else.
