The Sacre Cœur Basilica is a minor basilica and a Roman Catholic Church located in Paris at the summit of butte Montmarte and is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is one of France’s Landmarks and demonstrates a political and cultural aspect. This monument was designed by Paul Abadie and finished its construction in 1914.
Visitng the Sacre Cœur Basilica
The Basilica is open every day throughout the year from 6:00am up to 10:30pm. It is also possible to go up to the dome from 9:00am to 7:00pm (6:00pm during the winter) and also visit the crypt. Within the Basilica there is a shop which is open every day except Mondays from 9:15am to 5:45pm. There is also a religious bookshop which is open every day except from Mondays in the mornings and afternoons. There are many celebrations throughout the year which take place in the Basilica and also various retreats possible to participate in.
