If Queen Beatrix fancies going to the cinema, she goes to Tuschinski. And she knows why. The cinema dating from 1921 is an architectural masterpiece with an expressionist style. Particularly in the Great Hall but also in the foyer you feel like you have been transported back to a bygone era.
Even Queen Beatrix pays the occasional visit to Amsterdam's Expressionist-style cinema, built when the movies were still in their infancy.
