Description
The Isar Gate tower is home to Munich's most endearing and most amusing museum. Alongside the nail on which the popular actor Karl Valentin (pronounced "Falenteen") hung his civic profession, and the winter toothpick with fur trimming, the curious collection here features plenty of unusual stuff, but also an imaginative exhibition documenting what popular dramatic art used to be like. In 2001, a dedicated Liesl Karlstadt section was also established. On the top floor you will find a managed folk singer hostelry with "coffee house furnishings" from the turn of the century. Pensioners over 99 years of age get free entry if they are accompanied by their parents.
Munich's most lovable museum: those in the know have breakfast here, newcomers learn what lateral thinking means.
Beneath the roof there is a folk singing bar with a "coffee house establishment" dating back to the turn of the 20th century.
