Description
The main attraction of the Redeemer Church (1692-96) in Christanshavn is its tower. A staircase with 160 steps winds around its tip. The tower with its winding staircase was installed in 1750 and King Frederik V was the first person allowed to ascend to the top of the 90 m high tower and take a look at the city. The church also contains a noteworthy altar with columns of flame-red marble (1732) and a double-storey organ, supported by two stucco elephants (1698).
The Church of the Redeemer has a dizzying tower with a spiral staircase.
